Various Uses Of Glass Jars

Glass jars are known as the best storage containers when it comes to preserving drinks or eatables hygienically. They can also be reused in different ways. Reusing is a more environmental option than recycling, so let's all do our bit for the environment and find many useful ways to turn our glass jars and bottles into fun, exciting items. So we thought it would be a great idea to list these down to hopefully give other people some inspiration and ideas.

- Homemade Produce: Mostly people turn to producing their own homemade products like fresh juices, jams, chutney's, oils etc. Homemade produce tastes far superior to the supermarket's equivalent, plus it is fun. So the best way to use glass jars is to store your new homemade batch. Make sure the locking lid is BPA free for better preservation. - Dried Food: Most glass jars come with an airtight closure so storing other dry foods such as sugar and spices keeps them fresh and preserved. - Candle Holders: The small jars make great candle holders. Coloured glass jars make an excellent candle holder, reflecting a multitude of colours from the candles flickering flame. - Money Box: One of the most obvious ways to recycle jars is to cut a hole in the closure and give it to the kids to save their pennies. The opacity of the glass jars gives the money collector great satisfaction in seeing how much they have earned so far. - Picture Frames: What? some of our customers have even turned our glass jars into picture frames by bending the picture into the jar and turning it to sit on the mouth. Looks surprisingly stylish. - Crafts: Great for schools and charities, the large jars can be uniquely decorated with sand, stones and paint. Then close the jars off and sit the finished item in your kids bedroom. - Lanterns: Decorate the garden with glass jar lanterns for festive periods. Hang them on the washing line or stack them on the lawn. - Potted Plants: Pot your plants inside large bulb shaped jars, great for indoors and outdoors.

- Nuts / Bolts: The smaller baby food and paste jars are an excellent way to store those niggly nuts and bolts that are loosely rolling around in your garage and cupboard draws, sequences, pins, screws and much more. We hope this gives you some ideas of how to reuse your leftover glass. We would love to hear your ideas and also any other ways you can think of and want to share.
